When it comes to starting a new business, entrepreneur Nisha Amin is proving that sometimes thinking big means baking small.
Located in downtown Toronto, Amin’s Bite Bar marries the concept of bite-sized dessert and festive cocktails – and so far, it’s a marriage that works.
“We’re all about making sure that you get a pop full of flavour no matter what you’re going to eat here,” says Amin, the brains behind the bite-sized creations that range from marshmallow bars to cheesecakeletes to their signature ‘Just Bite Me’ mini-cupcake, complete with Raspberry-vodka-infused buttercream icing.
A baker at heart, Amin says she was frequently tasked with bringing sweet treats to social gatherings but noticed that people often ended up eating only a portion of what she served in an effort to cut calories or simply because they were too full. “I don’t want a full dessert, I just want a bite,” people would say, and that is exactly what Amin decided to give them.
