The TTC bus driver who was involved in an accident that sent nine passengers to hospital Thursday morning has been charged with careless driving.

Emergency response crews were called shortly after 9 a.m. to Bay Street near Wellesley Street after a bus braked suddenly, throwing passengers forward.

Those onboard suffered injuries to their back, neck, and legs, said Constable Tony Vella, because when the bus suddenly stopped, “some of them fell to the floor.”

Nine people were sent to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
